The Vietnam-Netherlands Masters in Development Economics (MDE) is a two-and-a half-year regular degree taught at the National Economics University (NEU), Hanoi. Graduates receive a degree signed by the Rectors of both the NEU and the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Hague, The Netherlands. The MDE curriculum focuses on applying economic theory to the policy challenges facing Vietnam. The degree, taught in English, includes both coursework and thesis components, and is Vietnam's leading economics degree. The MDE Program has achieved international standards in the teaching of economics.
