Students
are admitted into the Vietnam-Netherlands MDE Program on the basis of highly
competitive entrance examinations in economics, mathematics and English held
every September. All applicants must have already completed an undergraduate
degree with at least a minor in Economics. Applicants sit two three-hour exams
in economics and mathematics. Those who score the highest go on to a second
round interview in English. Previous examination papers can be reviewed.

Interested applicants can visit the MDE office during office hours (8.30 am – 11.30 am
, 2 pm – 5 pm) to get the
application form. The application form must then be filled out and submitted to
the project office to register for attendance at the entrance examinations held
in early September 2004. Following this, applicants will be selected according
to results of the qualifying examinations. Information about the timing of the
entrance examinations is circulated in the Vietnamese press several months
prior to October.
The MDE Program organizes pre-examination revision classes, held June-August
each year. Classes are held in microeconomics, macroeconomics, English,
probability and mathematics for economists.
