Board of Trustees
 Chaiman of the MDE's Board of Trustees:
Doctor of Science, Professor Vu Thieu vuthieu@neu.edu.vn or vuthieu@mde.edu.vn Professor Vu Thieu completed a PhD in Physics-Maths in 1979 and then received a Dr. of Science in Russia in 1988. In 1991 he took part as a scholar in Vietnam's governmental delegation to attend Indochina Forum for talking about US-Vietnam relationship normalization held in Jamaica. During the "Doi moi" period, he studied market economics and participated in organizing training courses on market economics and management for central and provincial government officials and enterprise managers through a UNDP-funded Project at the Office of Government, and a Ford Foundation-funded Project at Hanoi National Economics University. Professor Vu Thieu had been the first Director of the Hanoi MDE since its inception in 1994 to July 2006. Now he is the Chairman of the MDE's Board of Trustees. Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai nguyenttmai@cdepp.edu.vn Dr. Mai has got the PhD at NUS in Singapore. She has just been appointed to be CDEPP Director in November 2008.  Senior Lecturer:
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Minh nkm99@yahoo.com Dr. Minh has got the first PhD in Economics at NEU in 1990 and the second PhD at Thamasat University in Thailands in 2000. He is the founder of the Faculty of Economics at NEU and had been appointed as the first Dean of the Faculty from 2002 to 2006. He contributes in teaching Microeconomics for MDE Programme and participates in MDE's thesis supervision for many years. He had been appointed to be MDE's Programme Director from July 2006 to November 2008. 
Program Advisor: Dr Adam McCartyadam@hn.vnn.vn Dr Adam McCarty has been with the Vietnam-Netherlands MDE Program, as an employee of the ISS, since 1999. He now works with the MDE part-time, and lectures in Research Methodology, Theories of Economic Development and Vietnam and Regional Development. He is also involved in thesis supervision and curriculum reform. Dr McCarty completed a PhD at the Australian National University. His doctoral thesis was an evaluation of the impact of economic reforms between 1986-1991 in Hanoi, with particular reference to households. Dr McCarty is Chief Economist at Mekong Economics Ltd and lives in Hanoi with his wife and two children. 
Deputy Director: Dr Nguyen Van Thangnvthang@cdepp.edu.vn Dr. Thang has got the PhD in US. He has just been appointed to be CDEPP's Deputy Director in December 2008.  Librarian: Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yenyenmde@yahoo.com Ms. Yen has worked with the MDE Program since 1995. She manages and tends the MDE library. Yen has Bachelors of English (University of Foreign Language Studies) and Economic Law (College of Law) and is completing a Master in Public Management (National Economics University).  Secretary: Mrs. Bui Thi Thuc Anhthucanhmde@yahoo.com Mrs. Thuc Anh has worked as secretary with the MDE since 1999. She has Bachelor degrees in Russian (Hanoi National University), English (Open University) and Economics (National Economics University). Among other responsibilities, she handles student enquiries and timetabling.  Seminar Conductor: Ms. Thuy Nguyengreen_pine2004@yahoo.com Thuy Nguyen has MA degree in Japan. She's working for VDF in Vietnam. Thuy's role is to assist organising the MDE Public Seminar Series  Administrator: Mr Vu Hung Phuongvuhungphuong@hotmail.com Phuong has worked as an administrator with the MDE since 1994. Phuong has a Master in Public Management and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the National Economics University. He has also studied in Italy and the Czech Republic. He is doing PhD. at NEU.  Computer Technician: Mr. Vu Hai hai@cdepp.edu.vn Hai has worked as a Computer Technician with the MDE since its beginning in 1994.
