ThesesAll MDE students must complete a substantial thesis to receive the degree following the completion of coursework. Theses must demonstrate an understanding and application of economic theory. They are required to be about 50 pages in length. Students are guided in drafting research proposals, and receive supervision from one or two economists. Supervisors are usually academics and other experts, both Vietnamese and foreign, from universities, institutes, banks, ministries and international organizations. Examination of theses is rigorous, and includes a public oral defense.
